With all of the winter blizzards and freezing temperatures up north right now, I am beyond happy to be living back in Florida. After living in Germany for four years, where the weather was cold and rainy all year, I could not wait to be back in the sunshine state. After living here for 25 plus years, I am here to share with you guys, the best place to visit in Florida. So #EscapeTheCold, and get ready to have some fun in the sun! Here is a list of things to do in Kissimmee, Florida:
1. Visit the happiest place on earth: Disney World.
We have been to Disney World in the past few years, more times than I can remember and believe me when I tell you, it really is the happiest place on earth. There are enough things to do there to last you a lifetime. We love staying for the fireworks show every night and meeting our favorite characters. I have never seen my family smile more than when we are here at Disney. You can meet your favorite Disney characters, dance along with one of several parades, eat dinner inside the castle, and much much more!
2. Go around the world at Epcot.
Literally. You can visit several different countries here and taste some of the food offered in each country. They even have people working there that are actually from that country! We love visiting the France and Norway areas the most.
3. Have a day full of fun, for FREE at Disney Springs.
Disney Springs is completely free to get into, and if you pack your meals, like we do, you don't have to spend a dime here to have fun! They have recently remodeled everything and added some great new restaurants and shops. We would go every weekend if we could and with the amazing weather here, who wouldn't love to walk around and enjoy all they have to offer? You can take your kids to be dressed up as a Disney Princess or pirate, dig for fossils, enjoy the nightlife, visit the world's largest Disney store, and eat dinner with dinosaurs!
4. Explore Kissimmee Florida's nature.
It is no surprise that some of the wildlife and nature that is found in Florida, cannot be found anywhere else. Why not take an air boat ride, go zip lining over a lake full of alligators, or have an up close alligator encounter at Gator Land.
5. Get wild at the Central Florida Zoo.
I don't know about you, but my family LOVES animals and zoo's and this place is no exception. It is one of the few zoos I have seen where you can actually feed giraffes! You can also visit over 500 animals and take a night hike at the zoo.
6. Have a magical day at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
There are tons of things to do at Universal Studios, but our favorite is the World of Harry Potter. You can drink Butterbeer, pick out your own wand at Ollivanders, and ride the Hogwart's Express. You can also ride on a high speed dragon roller coaster, visit Hagrid's hut, and shop around Diagon Alley.
7. Use the force with your favorite Star Wars characters.
Are you a fan of Star Wars? Head over to Hollywood Studios and you can take a Jedi training course, take pictures with your favorite Star Wars characters, and go behind the scenes at the Launch Bay.
8. Let your imagination run wild at Lego Land.
This park has all types of activities for children ages 2-12. You can meet your favorite Lego characters, ride on one of over 50 rides, hang out at the Lego water park, and build and test out your own Lego Racers and Wave boats. This 150 acre interactive park has something fun to do for all ages.
9. Be amazed by the acrobats at Cirque Du Soleil.
If you ever get to see one show in your lifetime, make it a show from Cirque Du Soleil. I promise you won't be disappointed. This show will amaze people of all ages and have you leaving in awe. It is located in Disney Springs near the House of Blues.
10. Learn about the wonders of the ocean at Sea World.
Ever wanted to pet a dolphin or ride a giant Manta Ray? Well here is the place for you to do that and more. They have a few new roller coasters that are different than any other in the world. You can feed and pet dolphins, see a few shows, and have a shark encounter. My husband's favorite is petting and feeding the stingrays.
